Seven new Wonders of the World have been unveiled after one of the biggest global polls ever conducted.

Some 100 million people took part in an Internet and phone vote to select the magnificent seven, unveiled at a star-studded ceremony in Portugal.

The list is made up of: The Great Wall of China, Petra in Jordan, Brazil’s statue of Christ the Redeemer, Peru’s Machu Picchu, Mexico’s Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza, the Colosseum in Rome and the Taj Mahal in India.
