Firefighters are hopeful they have managed to contain a blaze that has forced the evacuation of hundreds of people along the French Riviera.
About 1500 hectares of land was affected by the fire that broke out near Antibes.
Another blaze in the southern Var region has ripped through a forest, forcing some 1,000 people to evacuate camp sites and nearby homes.
And in Spain, about 3,000 people had to flee campsites and homes in the northern Tarragone province.
Fires, fanned by strong summer winds, have become an annual threat in the region, with people warned to be extra vigilant about the high risk of fire.
