European holidaymakers and business travellers can now enjoy cheaper mobile phone bills for making or receiving calls while abroad.
Under the new regulations operators must offer customers the new Eurotariff of 49 cents for making a call and 24 for receiving while in another country.
The impact of the new roaming rates will vary from one country to another as prices differed from country to country. The idea could be extended beyond the 27 state union with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway showing interest.
