Southern Germany hit by violent storms

People in Bavaria have been cleaning up after parts of Germany were hit by freak storms. High winds ripped roofs off houses and toppled trees blocking a local railway line. In Berlin lightening and torrential rain flooded roads as the drainage system was unable to cope with the volume of water. Authorities claimed a partial state of emergency in the capital. The Allied Museum in Zehlendorf was also flooded. Snow ploughs were called out the clear roads in Munich after the city was pounded by hail storms.
