The spokesperson for the outlawed Basque independence party Batasuna, Arnaldo Otegi, has been arrested after a court rejected his appeal against a 15-month prison sentence. He was convicted for paying tribute to a man known as Argala, the former leader of separatist group ETA on the 25th anniversary of his death. Prosecutors say he spoke in praise of terrorism, which is a crime in Spain.
