A Nato Chinook helicopter that crashed in southern Afghanistan on Wednesday, killing seven people, may have been shot down by the Taliban, according to allied forces. Helmand province has been the scene of some of the heaviest recent clashes between Western troops and the Taliban following a winter lull. Soldiers who arrived on the crash site were reportedly ambushed by enemy fighters. The victims include five Americans, one Briton, and one Canadian.
