Fresh Israeli- Palestinian talks to end violence


The Palestinian and Israeli leaders will meet again next week to try and put an end to a surge in fighting in Gaza. It would be their first face to face meeting since April.

The Palestininan President Mahmoud Abbas made the announcement during talks with the head of the European Parliament.
The Palestinian leader said a ceasefire could be could be put in place during that meeting.

There are rumours the Israeli army is considering going into Gaza to hunt down militants launching rocket attacks into Israel.

Two more Hamas militants were buried today just hours after they were killed in Israeli airstrikes.
More than 40 Palestinians have been killed as Israeli jets try and strike Hamas bases in the densely populated Gaza strip.

Two Israelis have died in the past week in rocket attacks.
