An explosion has rocked a popular district of Ankara in Turkey, reportedly causing at least four deaths. The mayor of Ankara says the blast was likely to have been caused by a bomb. The explosion happened at the entrance to a building in the Anafartalar shopping area in the Ulus district. Many people have been injured, with some reports putting the figure at around 50. The explosion struck during the rush hour, raising the number of people injured.

Government officials earlier said an accident had not been ruled out as the cause, but police officers say it does appear to have been a bomb attack.
