The world’s largest commercial airliner – the Airbus A380 – has arrived in Frankfurt ahead of its first trans-Atlantic test-flight.
It is a welcome development for the company which has announced thousands of job cuts in the wake of costly delays to the project.
Tests are being carried out in Frankfurt ahead of tomorrow’s trip to New York. Also on Monday, another A380, travelling from France, will touch down in Los Angeles. Around 500 guests will be on board each superjumbo, with a full in-flight service available.
American plane enthusiasts are showing keen interest in the A380’s arrival but, as yet, no US commercial airline has put in an order for the aircraft.
