It has been confirmed that Saddam Hussein’s former vice President has had his sentence changed from life to death. Taha Yassin Ramadan was given a life sentence in November for his part in the killing of 148 Chi’ites in the town of Dujail. But an appeals court recommended that he should be hanged, like his co-defendant Saddam. That decision has today been confirmed. The judge said the execution could be carried out at any moment.
