The lineup of the new Palestinian unity government is expected to be released on Thursday, with a vote in parliament on Saturday. This from officials of the Palestinian President and Prime Minister. Fatah spokesman Nabil Abu Rdeneh said: “We hope that the world community will understand that this is the only way to give peace a chance and we hope that the world will understand that by encouraging President Abbas and this government to go forward in order to find a stable and sustainable peace in the Middle East.”

The unity goverment deal, agreed to in Mecca, was signed by President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah and Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas. It was aimed at calming factional fighting in which more than 90 people were killed.
