In the relative calm of Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez’s retreat some 200 kilometers from Montevideo, President Bush got down to business with his Uruguayan counterpart.

Bush is on a one week, five country visit to Latin America. The US president is on a charm offensive as he tries to turn around the perception that the US has neglected the region.

The president heaped praise on the country for its economic growth currently at some seven percent per year and sealed a number bilateral trade deals.
