French Nazi collaborator dies aged 96

Former top French official Maurice Papon has died at the age of 96. He was the first senior member the war-time Vichy government to be convicted of complicity in crimes against humanity for his role in deporting Jews to Auschwitz during World War Two. Papon had been jailed in 1999 but was freed three years later for health reasons.
