Basque youths riot after court ruling

Two days after Spain’s Supreme Court ruled that three Basque youth organisations were terrorist gangs, youths went on an overnight rampage in several Basque towns. The demonstrators set fire to an office of the Basque Socialist Party in Zumarraga and threw paint at the party’s office in Iurreta

Members of the three gangs – Jarrai, Haika and Segi – who are convicted of crimes now face longer sentences.One 17-year-old was arrested in the town of Munguia.
