Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora has said the assassination will make Lebanon more determined to set up an international court to try the suspected killers of his predecessor Rafik al-Hariri, who was gunned down last year. He also called on the people of Lebanon to unite. “As prime minister, I am calling on all the people of Lebanon to be vigilant for the future of the nation. I am calling on unity and cohesion.”
