A shooting drama at a school for adolescents in Germany has left a gunman dead and several people wounded. Police say an armed young man wearing a mask entered a school in Emsdetten in the northwest of the country. They say the gunman, reported to be an 18-year-old former student, was later found dead with explosives attached to his body.
An explosion was heard inside the school, but exact details of what happened are not yet clear. It was earlier reported that hostages had been taken, but most of the students managed to escape. At least eight people, including a pregnant teacher, are said to have been wounded.
