Michael Jackson's comeback not a thriller

It was supposed to be a small step towards a musical comeback, but the pop superstar Michael Jackson was barely able to sing. After months of staying out of the public eye since being acquitted of child molestation charges, he made an appearance at the World Music Awards in London. “There’ve been so many who have loved me and stood by me throughout the 42 years,” he said.

When he took to the stage, however, he struggled to sing along to one of his hit songs, his voice barely audible. He looked uncomfortable as he walked around the stage, unable to even attempt to sing in some places. Some reports say he had stage fright even before making his appearance, and another artist at the awards had to talk him into going on stage. Jackson was given an award that honours singers who sell more than 100 million records.
