Israeli soldiers have killed three Palestinians in raids against militants in the West Bank. Two Palestinians were shot dead at the al-Fara refugee camp near Jenin, and a third was killed in a village west of the city. The Israeli army carries out frequent raids against militants in the West Bank – Jenin is one of their strongholds.

An Israeli airstrike overnight in the northern Gaza Strip, meanwhile, damaged a house in the Jabalya refugee camp. The Israeli army said that the building was a weapons storehouse. On the diplomatic front, the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana says the road map remains the best way forward. “We think the road map is still the best instrument we have, and what we have to do is to implement it. The problem now is not the road map the problem now is the road map has never been implemented,” he said. Solana was speaking after talks with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah.
