The EU, the United States and Canada have together launched the first ever litigation against China at the World Trade Organisation. They want to convene a panel to resolve a car parts dispute. Increasingly impatient with Beijing’s trade policies, the three said the time for consultations on lowering barriers to China’s $19 billion auto parts market had run out. Foreign car makers have invested heavily in China to set up joint ventures to make vehicles.
