A British tourist has been killed and at least six other Westerners injured after a gunman opened fire on them in the Jordanian capital, Amman. Witnesses said the man chanted “God is Greatest” as he fired on the group of holidaymakers near a Roman amphitheatre in the centre of the city. He has reportedly been arrested. Last year around 60 people were killed when al-Qaeda suicide bombers attacked three international hotels in Amman.
