Police in Britain say they have foiled a major terrorism plot to blow up aeroplanes in midflight

A number of arrests were made in London overnight. Police believe the aim was to smuggle explosives on board aircraft in handluggage. It’s believed that the intentention was particularly to target flights from Britain to teh United States. Air passengers are being asked to travel without hand luggage. Security services say the threat level has been raised to critical – meaning an attack could be iminent.
