Rescue workers say more than a dozen people have died and almost 30 have been injured after an Israeli missile landed on an apartment building in southern Beirut. Rescuers dug frantically, spurred on by the hope of finding survivors. Israeli air strikes have also targeted the north-eastern city of Baalbek, as well as the ports of Tyre and Sidon. Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora has confirmed that one person was killed in an Israeli air strike on the southern border village of Houla, rather than 40 as feared earlier. A resident said about 50 people had been found alive under the rubble.
