There has been more bombing and more fighting as diplomatic efforts continue to end the war between Israel and Hizbollah militants. Most people living in port cities like Tyre have fled north. Those who remain have learnt of an indefinite Israeli curfew from pamphlets dropped by airplanes.
Elsewhere across southern Lebanon, up to three Israeli soldiers have been killed after pitched battles with Hizbollah militants. While scores of Hizbollah rockets have landed in northern Israel, there have also been several casualties resulting from Israeli air strikes throughout the region. Beirut has again been heavily bombed with at least five people reported to have been killed and up to 25 others wounded in the village of Ghaziyeh. The bombings hit the village as mourners were burying 15 relatives who died in a bombing on Monday.
