Bombings leave Lebanese civilians isolated

The overnight Israeli missile attacks on the city of Balbeck in Northern Lebanon have bombed a vital bridge. Locals living on either side of the river in the province of Akkar have gathered to see the destroyed road link. Since the conflict began three weeks ago many Lebanese have been left isolated. The Port of Tyre has once again been bombed this morning. The Israeli airforce carried out an attack near a Palestinian refugee camp in the south.

These latest bombings have meant that those killed in the airstrikes on the village of Qana on Sunday have still not been laid to rest. The 52 people who lost their lives in the Israeli airstrike were due to be buried on Wednesday in a communal grave. The continued insecurity in the area has meant the mass funerals have been delayed.
