Israel has continued strikes on Gaza, despite its widening of military action in Lebanon. An air strike on a house this morning killed one Palestinian and wounded ten others. The dead man is believed to be a Hamas militant but civilians were also injured in the attack, including a baby and a child.
Israeli officials claim the house was targeted because it was being used by Hamas to manufacture weapons, saying the extent of the damage was due to explosives stored inside.
The Palestinian Economy ministry was also hit on Saturday as well as a bridge in central Gaza. No casualties were reported in these incidents. The bombings are part of Israeli efforts to secure the release of one of its soldiers, taken by Hamas militants three weeks ago.
