Chaos and carnage after a series of blasts hit the Indian city of Mumbai. Police are reporting that at least 135 people died in seven separate explosions on board passenger trains. More than 250 are reported injured.

Officials believe that bombs made from plastic explosives were timed to go off simultaneously. The areas of Mumbai affected are Borivili, Khar, Jogeshwari, Matunga and Meera Road. Security has been raised across the country.

The blasts happened during the evening rush hour as the carriages were full of commuters on their way home from work. There are reports of passengers leaping onto the tracks to escape.
