Air travel chaos expected in Spain

Air travel in Spain looks likely to be hard hit by a week of industrial action starting today. Iberia airlines says about 200 flights will have to be cancelled every day, affecting about 200,000 passengers. Pilots are on strike in a dispute over the setting up of a low cost airline, a venture that Iberia is involved in.

Meanwhile, taxi drivers in Rome have called off their plans for a day of protest action on July the 11th. This after talks with the government over a controversial deregulation plan. Union leaders say officials have shown some flexibility. Thousands of tax drivers marched on government buildings in the capital last week.
