The crew are dropping off equipment and supplies to the International Space Station. It’s to be a short stay, most are scheduled to leave on July the 14th. Discovery docked flawlessly with the ISS which floats some 350 kilometres above the earth. The shuttle’s heat resistant tiles are being given close inspection –

With no apparent damage to the aircraft Nasa is hoping for a clean bill of health – after the deadly Columbia disaster of 2003 – another accident or serious problem could see the shuttle fleet grounded for good.
