The retrial of five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor accused of infecting hundreds of Libyan children with HIV has been postponed for a second time. Judges in Tripoli called off the proceedings to give lawyers more time to prepare evidence and what they call “proper” papers.

The defendants, who have been in jail since 1999, are accused of being part of a conspiracy by unnamed foreign intelligence forces to undermine Libya. The trial is now scheduled to resume on June 20.
