Who wants the European Parliament in one place, not two? In Brussels? Or in Strasbourg?
Half a million signatures in favour of Brussels have been collected by Internet say the members who started a petition on the question.

The cost of displacment from the headquarters in Belgium to the institutional seat in eastern France amounts to some 200 million euros each year. The European Commission, fixed in Brussels, want parliament there too.

The choice is up to the Member States – every one of them has to agree to change the EU treaty stipulation that ten plenary sessions per year be held in Strasbourg.

Maybe France’s next president will be prepared to discuss the matter, writes a commission vice president in her weblog.
