The stars of the Da Vinci Code film have boarded a special Eurostar in London that aims to make history on its way to the French Riviera.

The train, whose special livery was unveiled by film director Ron Howard, is aiming to grab the record for the longest international train journey non-stop.

The film stars Tom Hanks, Sir Ian McKellen, and French actors Jean Reno and Audrey Tautou.

Dan Brown, the author of the global bestseller that inspired the film, was also along for the ride.

The movie has drawn criticism from Christian leaders because it suggests Jesus Christ had a child with Mary Magdalene.

It is released worldwide on Friday.
