Berlusconi not conceding defeat

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has declined to concede defeat in the country’s general election until the results have been checked. He said: “No one can say who has won. If, after verification, the victory of the centre left is confirmed, something which I doubt very much, they will have to explain how they are going to govern a country divided in two. He went on to say Italy should consider a ‘grand coalition’ like that in power in Germany.
