It has been confirmed that last week’s raid on a security depot in southeast England was the biggest robbery in British history. Fifty-three million pounds was stolen – the equivalent of nearly 78 million euros. Police say their enquiry is moving at a “fast pace.”

As forensic teams examine vehicles were recovered as part of the enquiry, Kent’s Assistant Chief Constable Adrian Leppard also appealed for help in finding a white lorry, used in the robbery. Items found so far include cages used for carrying money, guns, and about 1.3 million pounds in cash. The raid happened after the gang, posing as police officers, kidnapped the manager of the depot, his wife and young son.
