The only man charged in the United States in connection with the September 11thattacks has been in court on the first day of jury selection. But Zacarias Moussaoui’s appearance did not last long after he criticised his lawyers and called the sentencing trial a “circus”. He was sejected shortly after the proceedings began after shouting “I am al Qaeda, they do not represent me.” Moussaoui, 37, pleaded guilty last April to all six counts against him. A jury will now decide if he gets the death penalty, or whether he will spend the rest of his life in jail.
