A pure and simple sound to commemorate a complex musical genius. The bells in Salzburg were marking the 250th aniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, perhaps the greatest ever composer. People from all over the world are visiting his home town in Austria to take part in the festivities. Despite his short life – he died at 35 – Mozart produced more than 600 works, many of them masterpieces. In Vienna, where he also lived, his life’s work was celebrated with a mass.
