The snow-laden roof of an exhibition hall in Katowice, Poland has collapsed, and it is feared there may be many casualties. Several hundred people were believed to have been inside, attending a popular pigeon show, which received special permission to go ahead despite restrictions on the movement of birds because of the bird flu scare. Police say they have no exact figures for those inside, but a Polish news agency says at least 50 people have been hospitalised with injuries.
