Bush says USA is "praying" for Sharon's recovery

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has said that US officials were praying for the recovery of Ariel Sharon, a man she called a gigantic figure in Middle East and world politics.

President Bush also spoke on his visit to the State Department. He said: “Our nation sends our deepest sympathies to Ariel Sharon. He lies immobilised in an Israeli hospital, we pray for his recovery. He is a good man, a strong man, a man who cared deeply about the security of the Israeli people, and a man who had a vision for peace. May God bless him.”
