The international community has condemned last night’s terrorist bomb attacks in Jordan. The Jordanian deputy Prime Minister Marwan Muasher says so far, no one has claimed responsibility, but he believes the Jordanian born leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab al Zarquawi, is to blame.

US President George Bush has described the attacks as “vicious” and offered help in any investigation, while the UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, who was due in Jordan for a visit today, has also condemned the bombings. His visit has been cancelled. Syria, the Palestinian Authority, the Arab Emirates and France have also condemned the attacks.
