More than 800 cars have been burnt, 34 police officers injured and 95 people arrested during the 11th consecutive night of urban violence in France.In the suburbs of Paris and in towns and cities across the country, schools, factories, police stations and even churches have come under attack.

During a visit to a police station north of Paris, Interior Minister Nicholas Sarkozy described anyone who shot at the police as a vandal.For the first time since the unrest began, more cars have been destroyed in the provinces than in Paris. Stones have been thrown at buses – a 13 month old baby had to be taken to hospital from a bus in St Etienne after being hit in the head.
