London Zoo, home to some of the worlds most endangered species and now, home to the worlds most endangering species. Dubbed “Homo exhibitionist” eight brave volunteers have colonised the zoo’s Bear Mountain and will be preening and playing during the bank holiday weekend. The idea is to demonstrate man’s impact on the environment and remind visitors of our origins, according to London Zoo’s Commercial Director, Brian Oldman. “The reason that London Zoo and other zoos exist is because there is an extinction crisis with animals worldwide. Animals are in danger and actually what we have put on display today is the animal that is endangering all those other animals – that’s Homo sapiens – the human being.” Visitors are discouraged from throwing food to the homosapiens – they can go home for dinner anyway. The exhibitionists will be on display until Monday.
