NASA’s mission to the Red Planet has been launched after a delay of 24 hours due to technical problems. The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has blasted off from the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral in Florida. It follows the successful return of the shuttle Discovery from the International Space Station. The craft’s task is to find out whether the planet had water long enough to nurture life. It’s due to arrive there in March for a four-year stay.
