New video claim of Chinook downing in Afghanistan

A video containing footage of an attack last June on a Chinook helicopter in Afghanistan has been sent to an arabic language TV station.

The video also contains scenes of what looks like training camps and of a fluent English-speaking militant launching a verbal attack on Britain’s prime minister and the US president. The masked gunman is heard threatening Westerners, saying “don’t be fooled by the lies of Blair and Bush”. Neither the British government nor the US have commented on the tape. The Pentagon has however confirmed that 16 American service personnel were killed last June in the Afghan province of Kunar. They died when their helicopter crashed en route to joining operations against insurgents. This latest footage claims that a group linked to al-Qaeda was responsible.
