Spanish offer of help for bonb-struck London

Fifteen months after Spain suffered Europe’s worst al Qaeda attack, Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero sent a message of solidarity to Britain.

“The terrorists will never be able to make us renounce our values and principles,” he said. “The moral strength of democracy is much stronger that the cowardly methods of evil. Terror never prevails over law and democracy.” Spain has put its security forces on maximum alert. He also offered help to Britain in tracking down and arresting those reponsible for the bomb blasts.
