Police in Germany have presented photographs of the man reported to have confessed to the murder of the fashion designer Rudolph Moshammer. The 25-year-old Iraqi was arrested after DNA swabs taken from the scene of the crime were matched up with samples held on file. Police say it appears Moshammer was strangled after refusing to pay the suspect the 2000 euros he had promised him for sex.
Moshammer`s flamboyant lifestyle was regularly featured on TV and in magazines. The 64-year-old was discovered dead at his Munich home on Friday with a telephone cable around his neck.
Famous around the world for the extravagant garments he designed and wore, he worked with the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and the opera singer Jose Carreras, but also did a lot of charity work for the homeless. Police say they have been inundated with phone calls by people who want to adopt Moshammer`s dog, Daisy, but they say a new home has already been found.
