EU ministers advance tsunami aid plan

European Union Foreign ministers have held emergency talks in Brussels to advance the bloc’s response to the Asian tsunami disaster. The EU has pledged one and half billion euros in aid over several years.External relations commissioner Benita Ferrera-Waldner spoke of the need to create a new rapid response aid initiative

The Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Louis Michel, said the relief effort should target children as a priority.
