The wave of religious violence sweeping the Netherlands has seen another mosque in the south of the country torched. Police say they are assuming it was the work of arsonists.More than ten Christian churches and Muslim mosques have been damaged by fire since a Dutch filmmaker was killed by a suspected Islamic militant at the start of November.
Theo Van Gogh sparked fury from some Muslims with a film that accused their religion of promoting violence against women. In an effort to calm the situation Queen Beatrix visited a Moroccan youth centre in Amsterdam. The Dutch government says it shares her concern over the violence in a country normally associated with freedom and tolerance. Police say dozens of people have been arrested, including both radical Islamists and far-right extremists.
