Muslim cleric on terrorism charges in UK

Controversial Muslim cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri is to face terrorism charges in Britain.

The London-based preacher has been in prison in the UK since May when the US government requested his extradition on terror-related matters, including analleged role in a 1998 hostage-taking in Yemen. The British legal process will take precedence over the extradition hearing, which had been due to start next week. It is not yet known exactly what charges the 47-year-old Egyptian-born cleric will face.
